- Description: Starting and growing a business is no small task and with so many logistics to manage, it is essential to remember the importance to Human Resources (HR). Attend this workshop to learn the basic HR considerations that every entrepreneur should know. The workshop will cover complying with hiring laws, handle employee discipline, time off and leave of absence, complying with state and fedeal wage laws and lawful terminations. Presented by the Center for Women and Enterprise.

The East Cambridge Scholarship Fund is a neighborhood organization established to financially assist residents who are presently attending or planning to attend two or four year colleges, graduate school or technical/trade schools.
5 positions (three year terms) are currently available on the Board of Trustees of the East Cambridge Scholarship Fund. Trustees are expected to attend monthly two hour meetings and to participate on one of the steering committees. Meetings are held in the evening at St. Francis of Assisi Church Hall.
Residents living in the area bordered by the railroad tracks to Broadway to the Charles River and the Cambridge/Somerville Line are eligible to apply.

The Economic Development Division is organizing a Speed Coaching event on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 5:30 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. at the Cambridge Senior Center at 806 Massachusetts Avenue for Cambridge small business owners and entrepreneurs.
Throughout the evening, participants will be able to network with fellow small businesses and get 10 to 15 minutes of one-on-one time with local experts in the following fields:
