Dust off your cowboy boots and bust out your 10 gallon hat. Inman Square Business Association(ISBA) is presenting their new fall event … The Harvest Hoedown on November 10th in Inman Square.  ECBA is proud to be a sponsor of this great event happening just down the other end of Cambridge St in Inman Square.  Our neighbors have have been working hard and we are happy to support them.

Its great to see so many new things happening in the neighborhood and we hope you can make it down to the Hoedown and check it out. Tickets are available on eventbrite.

East End House Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway

The East End House needs your help to make the holidays festive for everyone! Each Thanksgiving, East End
House provides hundreds of individuals and families with Thanksgiving Baskets that include
turkeys and all of the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Here is how YOU can help:

Food Donations
Hold a food drive at your organization! Encourage employees to bring in non-perishable
holiday foods in the weeks before Thanksgiving. Choose one item to focus on or collect them
all! We also need $15 gift cards to Shaw’s or Market Basket for those who prefer these to a
turkey. Here is a list of requested items:
• Stuffing
• Gravy
• Cranberry Sauce
• Canned Pumpkin
• Desserts
• Canned Fruits and Vegetables
• Baby Food and Formula
• $15 gift cards to Shaw’s or Market Basket as Turkey Vouchers

The deadline for all food donations is Friday, November 22nd, at 5:00 pm.
Volunteer

Bring yourself, family, friends, and/or co-workers to East End House to help us prepare
and distribute Baskets for the Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway!

You can volunteer for as little as one hour on Friday, Nov. 22nd 12:00-5:00 pm;
Saturday, Nov. 23rd 10:00 am – 1:00 pm; Monday, Nov. 25th 12:30 – 6:00 pm;
or Tuesday Nov. 26th 9:00 am – 7:00 pm.

Fire House Open House on Halloween

Halloween Open House at all Fire Stations *

Once again this year the Cambridge Fire Department will be hosting Halloween Open House at all fire stations from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Thursday, October 31, 2012.

Children and their parents are encouraged to visit their neighborhood fire station to view fire apparatus and to receive glow sticks and trick-or-treat bags while supplies last that they can use for trick-or-treating, compliments of the Cambridge Fire Department.  Candy for this event has been generously donated by Cambridge Brands, Inc., 810 Main St, and will be distributed to the kids.

Cambridgeside Galleria Halloween Trick or Treating

Visit the Happy Halloween Hideout on Level Three for a free trick or treat bag and some goodies (while supplies last)

FOURTH ANNUAL SMOKE THIS RIB FEST
East Cambridge’s Culinary Showdown

Cambridge, MA: The East Cambridge Business Association (ECBA) is proud to present The East Cambridge Business Association “Smoke This” Rib Fest 2013, on Sunday October 20, 2013 from 12:00 noon – 4:00pm. The Rib Fest and Street Fair will take place on Cambridge Street in East Cambridge, between Fulkerson Street and Fifth Street.

The Rib Fest is a culinary showdown pitting pit master against pit master for the title of the best ribs in town. The event is perfect for all ages so come and enjoy some BBQ, live music and so much more. There will be plenty of food and fun to be had, but for the best chance to sample a variety of ribs and to cast your vote, you’ll need a Taste Ticket which will get you 10 rib samples from the restaurants of your choice at a first come first serve basis. Taste Tickets are on sale starting September 9th. Taste Tickets sell out every year, so each restaurant will also be selling a dish at a great price, showcasing food from their fall menu. So even if you miss out on buying a Taste Ticket, you can still enjoy tasty food from the best restaurants around town!

Enjoy cooking demonstrations from local chefs, brought to you by how2heroes, while the kids enjoy fun and games with The East End House. Local favorites  The Atwood’s Monday Night Bluegrass Band will get you moving with their Bluegrass and Americana rhythms.

Participating restaurants include Abigail’s, Area 4, ARTBAR, Atwood’s Tavern, Bambara, CRLS Culinary, East Coast Grill, East Side Bar & Grille, Lord Hobo, New Deal Fish Market, Ole, Puritan & Co., Redbones, Trina’s Starlight Lounge, and Tupelo.

Rib Fest is a perfect opportunity to get a taste of the local fare in and near East Cambridge and is produced by The East Cambridge Business Association and sponsored by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Cambridge Savings Bank, Clark Hunt Ahern & Embry, CPCU Credit Union, East Cambridge Savings Bank, EF, Forest City, HYM Investments, Leggat McCall, Linear Retail, McKinnon Co., MIT, Rogers Properties Group and Vinfen.
