New Economic Development Blog

SmallCDDLogo

The City of Cambridge Economic Development Division has just launched a new blog.  The new site is a great resource for finding information about the many resources that Cambridge offers to local business as well as a great place to keep up on local business related news.

You can find a calendar of events for upcoming Best Retail Practices Workshops and the latest Businesses Assistance Info Sessions. These are all great programs that the City has design to help local business thrive in the marketplace.  There is also currently a link to the recently release East Cambridge Customer Intercept Survey which was conducted in the Fall of 2013.

You can find all this at http://cambridgedevelopmentnews.org/

The Taste Ticket

Do I need a ticket to come to Rib Fest? If my friend doesnt have a ticket can he/she still come?

Each year we try to put up a new post with an explanation of some frequently asked questions about the Taste Ticket. The most common, “Do I need a Taste Ticket to come to Rib Fest”

The answer, “no, you dont need a ticket to come to Smoke This Rib Fest, BUT you do need a ticket to eat ribs”

That being said, the Taste Ticket is the best way to experience STRF because it allows you 10 samples of ribs on a first come first serve basis from our (currently) 20 local restaurants.  Then the Ticket doubles as your ballot.  You can cast your vote for your favorite rib and help us crown the winner of The People’s Choice Award

We always expect and welcome more people to come to the community event to enjoy the music, activities, and of course food!.  So we ask each retuarant to bring additional food items that reflect their own menus.  This way the event is open to the public and there is plenty of food options for everyone who joins us.

Hope this sheds some light on the Taste Ticket, but if you have any questions we are happy to answer them.  Email us at info@eastcambridgeba.com

Cambridge, MA: The East Cambridge Business Association (ECBA) is proud to present The East Cambridge Business Association “Smoke This” Rib Fest 2013, on Sunday October 20, 2013 from 12:00 noon – 4:00pm. The Rib Fest and Street Fair will take place on Cambridge Street in East Cambridge, between Fulkerson Street and Fifth Street.

The Rib Fest is a culinary showdown pitting pit master against pit master for the title of the best ribs in town. The event is perfect for all ages so come and enjoy some BBQ, live music and so much more. There will be plenty of food and fun to be had, but for the best chance to sample a variety of ribs and to cast your vote, you’ll need a Taste Ticket which will get you 10 rib samples from the restaurants of your choice at a first come first serve basis. Taste Tickets are on sale starting September 9th. Taste Tickets sell out every year, so each restaurant will also be selling a dish at a great price, showcasing food from their fall menu. So even if you miss out on buying a Taste Ticket, you can still enjoy tasty food from the best restaurants around town!
